The Lone Star Tick can actually trigger some people to have allergic reactions to beef, pork, lamb and sometimes even dairy. Despite being called the Lone Star Tick due to the white dot on it’s back, it actually can be found throughout the south including Oklahoma, and has even been found along the east coast as far north as Maine. This same tick is known to transmit Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, another tick borne illness.
